Instructions

Hardy Weinberg Equilibrium Simulation. Created as part of an assignment for my SED 690 course at CSUN. For simplicity this simulation represents a model of a population of cats with the co-dominant alleles A and B represented by coat color. AA=black BB=orange and AB=Orange and Black. To run the simulation press the Green flag. Use the up and down arrows to adjust the starting frequencies of the alleles A and B. Press "s" key to begin the breeding cycle. After 301 offspring have been born the cats stop breeding. Press the "space" bar to calculate the new A and B allele frequencies. You can use the new (final) frequencies to begin a new generation by pressing the "g" key. Press the "s" key to begin the next generation. Again after 301 offspring have been born the simulations stops. Press the "space" bar to calculate the new A and B allele frequencies. You can continue to create new generations for the as long a you like. You can simulate reduced fitness of a phenotype (BB) by pressing the "x" key prior to starting (pressing the "s" key) the simulation. However, when you run the new generation you need to press the "x" key before you start.

Please comment and add suggestions for improvements. I am still learning some of the Scratch code and what I can do with it.
