Description

Cartoon Network wanted gemsonas, and I have a beautiful one. *coughcough* [[ THIS is just a quick sketch I liked, I'll do more with this OC in the future with better art, I promise!! ]] Fire Opal is an easily shattered gem, low on the....what was it, hardness scale? Something like that. She's short, about as tall as a Ruby with a hat on, and doesn't have arms. Her "weapon" is, in fact, her arms, as well as limb enhancers that make her taller. Fire Opal's were used to transport messages quickly, as their supernatural speed allowed them to zip around to warp pads with ease. This was, of course, before other technologies were invented that allowed communication between the diamonds. Fire Opals fell out of fashion. When the rebels rose, FO's became more useful as message transfers for two reasons; they were harder to intercept than digital messages, and were easily shattered, as mentioned above. If a Fire Opal with a message was captured, they could easily break themselves, therefore keeping the message safe. This Fire Opal pictured has a gem (either on her back or stomach) that allows her to reach it easily. Fire Opals serve under Yellow diamond. Fire Opals are chipper, and happy. They take their job seriously, but when off the clock, they often joke around and play games. Surprisingly, they like being armless. Not only does it give them less air resistance when running, but allows them to get out of tasks that require arms. Fire Opals don't think too much about shattering themselves. Too sad. Yet if the time ever came, not a single one would hesitate. Fire Opals are comfortable with the thought of being shattered. They're not particularly curious or mischevious, but a group of FO's have been known to prank other, taller gems when given the chance.
