Description

(Note: for some reason making the picture makes me feel, like, so happy. It's like, "OMG OMG I DREW A CAT AND IT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE A CAT!!!") This vent is k̶i̶n̶d̶a̶ really selfish, just a warning :/ Just so you know, I'm not depressed. This is just something on my mind. It's not taking over my mind or anything. I've been thinking... the teachers and parents and the other adults all say, "It's okay if you don't get it, that's good!" "Making mistakes is the best way to learn." "It's good not to know this, because then you can always get better!" Recently, school showed us a Tedtalk about how grit is what makes you successful. What they also said... was that people born talented end up with less grit than people who aren't. I'm one of those supposedly "born talented" people. I feel like I've got no chance. The adults are getting the people without born talents, the ones who are supposed to be the "average" type, to have self confidence and saying they can get better, even better than the supposedly "good grades" students. But what about us? The ones who usually get better grades? The ones who are "Gifted"? I feel like they've been... antagonizing the people who learn faster. It's as if they're saying, "the people who don't start out good at something always do better than the ones who do." And all the amazing scientists, the ones that I've learned from, never start out as "the smart one". I know this vent is extremely selfish and I thought about not sharing it. I know most will take a lot of offense from this. And I understand that I'm probably subconsciously bragging in this. But I just can't help thinking... I need to get it out... What about us? I sincerely apologize if this vent hurt your feelings.
