[edit 7-14-2022 Holy cow the writing :sob: I'll keep it here for posterity reasons BUT MY GODDDDDD ITS SO . SHIVERS GROSSLY. EW. DONT PAY ATTENTION TO IT AT ALL ] Raven's paws barely brushed the tall, waving grass before she folded in her wings. She sat in the centre of the clearing, as she usually did. "Today's the day," she sighed, sheathing and unsheathing her claws repeatedly. She sat in the same spot for a while, watching the sun set. The birch trees surrounding her swayed slightly in the light wind. Raven sighed again, then slowly raised her quivering paw to her throat. She unsheathed her claws and took a deep breath-- "S-STOP!" A strange voice called out just as her claws brushed the vulnerable part of her neck. Raven turned her head quickly to look at who had spoken, accidentally nicking her throat in the process. A pale, peach coloured- cat with green markings stood, panting. He looked extremely panicked and was staring at her throat. A single droplet of blood had formed. The stranger raised a single paw, which was shaking. He stumbled across the clearing and pressed it to her neck. "D-Don't. Please don't." he muttered, continually trying to wipe away the blood. Raven stared at him with a perplexed look on her face. The dark circles under her eyes only accentuated her confused expression. He looked at her, and she noticed a few tears forming in his eyes. She slowly put down her paw and sheathed her claws. He had stopped attempting to brush away the blood and instead had his paw pressed against Raven's throat. Raven's breath became more heavy, and she stared at him pointedly. She glared at him, then pushed his paw away from her neck. "Who do you think you are?" She hissed. "I-- I'm Emberleaf," He seemed dumbfounded as to why she was pushing him away. "Alright... Emberleaf. Leave me alone." Raven snarled and spread her wings, ready to take off and leave her place of solitude and comfort forever. Emberleaf reached out and pulled one of her wings down. "Please don't!" he exclaimed, his voice cracking in- was that grief? "What do you want from me?" Raven yelled, backing away in a defensive manner. "Um, I mean, it would be great if you could //not die// for starters?" he squeaked out. Raven's expression loosened, and she gazed at the guy sadly. "You don't know what I have to live with," she replied, her voice barely a whisper. "B-But I could," he said, shakily. "P-Please, just give this a chance. Here! H-Here's my number..." Emberleaf fumbled around in the satchel he had around his waist, and pulled out a small scrap of paper and a pencil. He scribbled down a few numbers, then handed the note to Raven. "P-Please, just call or text when you feel bad. I want to make sure you're okay." His eyes were wide with worry as he stared at Raven, who tentatively took the paper from him. They locked eyes for a moment. Just a moment. Then Raven suddenly took off, leaving Emberleaf behind, standing in the clearing alone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Art/Writing/Charries by @junglepie @TheGamingArcher and @-TealFrost- for Original Meme/coding
