Meph had turned into crystal Meph due to having the Dark Chaos emeraeld. Maria had given the blue hedgehog a dagger so he could protect him self from his enemy, Dark Ice. Meph saw him with the dagger near Maria and thought he was threatening her. Meph then Clawed his face and arm. Then the blue hedgehog fell to the ground. Meph wanted to make sure he died so she sent crystals through his back, killing him.
