Use the left and right arrow keys to select a state. Press the space key to go to that state. Use the up and down arrow keys to choose which information to display: capital, state bird, size, population, or electoral votes. Press the M key to shift in and out of map move mode. Press C to change the color of the map. (This has no effect on a state's political leanings, sadly.)
Most of the data and the flag images come from Wikipedia. It's maybe a lesser known feature of Scratch that you can import csv files as lists. Just create the list, temporarily show it in the project window, right-click on it in the project window, and select the import option.
