Every year, for Thanksgiving alone, 45 million innocent turkeys are killed for their flesh. 300 million are killed each year, and 22 million are killed for Christmas. In this game, you can try to Save the Turkeys! Use your mouse to click on the turkeys to capture and save them before they become Thanksgiving dinner! But watch out... Pesky bombs are being tossed everywhere by those who would eat the turkeys in a (hopefully futile!) effort to stop you! Click the turkeys! Save the turkeys! Don't let them become dinner! Did you know... Baby turkeys are hatched in large incubators, never to see their mothers. After a few weeks they are moved to dark, windowless sheds. At many farms, the turkeys are beatenand stomped upon by the keepers. Their beaks and toes are cut off without painkillers, and they are drugged and genetically manipulated to grow as large as possible. Because of this, their legs may break beneath them. They live to 10 years old in the wild, but they will barely survive a half a year before they are killed. Once they make it to the slaughterhouse, they are hung upside down by their legs, often causing them to break in the process. They are dunked into electrified water, then their throats are slit. They are then dunked into scalding hot water to de-feather them, and sometimes are still alive during this process! And finally, they are turned into dinner.
