The pale tabby is Dawnstar from Breezeclan, and the dark tabby was her mate, Darkclaw. Darkclaw died a long time ago, when he got hit by a monster during the night. Every once in a while, she comes back to where Darkclaw is buried. This tragic event shattered her heart, and it is hard to say if she will ever be able to fall in love again. Later, when she lost her sister to sickness, it broke her even more. Also, she almost lost her second mate, Swiftstrike, twice. Once in the battle of the dogs, and once in the battle with the Dark Forest. Darkclaw still visits Dawnstar in her home in Breezeclan.
