Click on the green flag and watch. This project is an extension of my Lorenz Attractor project. The red point point and white point are very close together. Due to 'sensitivity to initial conditions', the two points soon diverge (about iteration number 2000) even though each point is governed by the same set of equations (see Notes). The red and white points are points in phase space and represent the state of the system, a convection roll driven by heat, at each of the two points. It's an 'attractor' because even though it's impossible to predict where a point goes (say, which lobe of the curve it goes to), it will always go to some point within the 'shape' of the attractor. In other words, the system will oscillate but not wildly.
