So as you know, this is a rant. I'll be focusing on birds, but ALL pets shouldn't be abandoned, or abused. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parrots are very remarkable. You might have seen videos of them, screaming or talking or singing or dancing, something of that sort. They are very smart and playful, with unique personalities. Wouldn't i be fun to have a large, talking parrot, like a macaw or cockatoo? Wait. First, do you have room for such a large bird?? Large parrots have huge cages, and what about experience? If you haven't had a smaller and easier bird, like a budgie or a lovebird or something like that, maybe it's better to start easy. Also, you know that some parrots can live for quite a while, so it's best to know how long first. African Greys can live for about 50 to 60 years! Amazon parrots live about 50 to 70! (BTW, don't buy exotic pets, the exotic pet trade is not good.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay, here's my point, it's estimated that 40 MILLION birds in the US are caged, without ever being able to come out, and often improperly taken cared of!!!!!!! That's not okay. Parrots CANNOT stay in a cage forever!!! They must come out and play! If you adopt a pet, you must take care of it! Otherwise, why did you buy it???????? So, I jus want to inform people, that if you get a pet, you must take care of it well!
