Part of her backstory: While being transported to a pet shop, the human carrying her cage slipped on the ice underfoot, and fell. The cage slid into a storm drain and was broken open by the impact. Frightened and confused, a young Avila skulked around the sewer, ducking whenever a rat scurried past her or another deluge of water gushed out of a pipe. Avila eventually found her way out after two days, she wasn't anymore relieved to be out in the sunshine either. She was starved, shaky, exhausted, and perplexed. Until she found a group of cats to live by, watching their hunting and scavenging.
