What defines us? Is it the the things that are true, That we hide from the world in shame? Or is it what we decide to be. Maybe by letting those secrets shine, Shine bright as gold, Then we’ll be true. Or, Would the truth be rejected? Would you risk loneliness for authenticity? Maybe the solution is to guard your heart. With walls, So that no one can find out. If no one finds out there’s nothing to fear. But what happens when the truth slips? Do we embrace it? Do we continue to run? I don’t know. And I don’t want to. So until there’s no point, I’ll hide. Once the golden light of the sun takes me in. But just as this dream was working, It starts to crumble at your feet. As those secrets are now affecting you. Physically. More than just a mental hurdle now. And just when it couldn’t get worse. The promise of trouble arrives. The timing inconvenient. At first it’s just competition, That would blossom, And turn into hatred. As shame rings in your head. When you see their secret unfold. All the while stuck in a trance, As they catch on to you. You can’t help to pity them. Trying to compromise. But you had these walls for a reason, Now fallen what will you do, When you’ve been taken down? When they reveal your shame and secrets. The fear can’t stay away. So you run, Like you have. Because running was all there was to do. But stopped in the face of betrayal. It’s true you ended up alone. And if hiding didn’t do anything good, Why hide? You can’t deny it, As everything you loved is turned on you. So you embrace it. The secret you keep hidden. Is now there for everyone to see. The truths you can’t erase, This is what they look like. And as freedom washes away the pain, You finally get to be you. Not the lies. And you’re proud of yourself. It’s beautiful, And a little broken, But it’s always gonna be repaired. And though scars don’t heal. Why not embrace them, And show them, Like kintsugi, Because you are healed.
I really only have to credit Netflix’s newest hit, K-pop demon hunters. It’s a great movie that is painfully relatable. The characters are three dimensional and feel truly real. And the music is great. The visuals are so beautiful and the whole theme is absolutely amazing. If you ever wanted to know what love was like, Well, This is what it sounds like.
