since I got doom 3 a couple days ago I decided to make this. so basically lots of people really hate the doom 3 shotgun for its bad range but tbh idk why people hate it so much for this. sure it's range isn't great but be honest, you're almost always gonna be quite close to the demons. another thing is it does a pretty decent bit of damage and once you have the machine gun you're pretty much gonna only use it if you're out of ammo. so overall, doom 3 shotgun is way too overhated.
