during the early days of Selder discovering this unknown evil and vowing to stop it, Kalpen was willing to help him, however this evil controlled the mutations and Kalpen was killed in the conflict, Kalpen blamed himself and thought he was too weak, starting his killing spree to get stronger. (i'll likely use Kalpen during flashbacks or collabs that take place before the incident.)
