Chapter fourteen ✉ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- My breath was sucked inside my mouth like a bit of plastic, choking a vacuum cleaner. The tense moments withered and we crept out of the shadows to see inky footprints laying on the floor. They didn't stay for long. In front of our eyes, they started to vanish, one after another. Before the last one vanished, I leaning in and slid my bare hand over it just in time to see it also vanish. The cold ink spread on my fingers. I turned my hand over to see but it had seemed as If nothing was there. The trail was gone. SIlence washed over us as we started one to another. "We probably have to get back.." Elle said, checking the time on her watch. "First class begins after breakfast..we might have time to talk after that.." I said, leading them to the door. "Within the castle grounds, okay?" Astra said, closing the door softly. "I hope they aren't caught" Ryanne said hopefully "it isn't right to be awake at this time.." Lavender rolled her eyes again, in a way that felt like time had stopped "Of Course they'll get caught! You think Snape spares anyone but Slytherin?" Ryanne squealed "Lavender! Why do you have to sound so-so-" Her voice trailed off. Someone was entering the common room. "Stop bickering and HIDE" I shushed them angrily. We shuffled up the stairs and hurried into our dormitory. Heavy breathing from our lungs was replaced by an eerie squeal and then..silence....
