Chapter ten ✉ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- "You all will remember to SWISH and FLICK" Professor Flitwick (who Draco Malfoy pronounced "Flint Whink") was teaching the Gryffindors charms with the Ravenclaws. A girl named "Astra Twilight" had said once that she had mistaken Flitwick for a gnome. "He even wore a gnome hat on Christmas!" she remarked. I sat nervously, trying to 'Swish and FLINK'. But my mind had other plans deep down. The creature in school? What was it? Why was it her- "Yes, Ms. Granger, demonstrate to the class please" Professor Flitwick said gently, raising and lowering his wand. Before I knew it, my hand had automatically obeyed and began swishing. My mouth had also decided to begin talking. "Perfecto!! Forty points to Gryffindor!"The stubby old, dwarf man said proudly after a moment, clapping his little hands. We all smiled. He placed another book under his feet and suddenly grew an inch. Mcgonagall taught the class Transfiguration next, with the Hufflepuffs. "The most important part isn't only the TRANSFIGURING" she had scolded a complaining Hufflepuff "Its the BOOK READING" her voice had been louder than intended. The Hufflepuff shrank deep into their seat. Thankfully, nobody laughed. A girl named "Ariya Stone" had leaned in and whispered to me dramatically " books, what poverty" she put a hand over her tan skin, brushing away brown hair from her face. Dreading ahead was..Potions. Not the subject. The teacher and class we were with. Slytherin students sat proudly on the opposing side of the Potions classroom, described and pronounced as a "Dungeon". Professor Snape walked with a ungrateful grace, knocking over a Gryffindor student's locket on the way. He knew that and didn't care much. He was a tall man, black robes, sleek black hair that waterfalled below his ears and not to mention, the unbearable, unthinkable, unmistakable gin that was painted on his face. But as for now, he wasn't wearing his usual grin. "Class" he said, in a hiss "today, we will learn some basic brewing.." the word "brew" was barely heard. The bustle of students, thinking books and cauldrons onto their desks was soon gone quiet. "Open the page three hundred three and brew the first one..Cure for boils. Ingredients listed" his eyes were lasers on us all, especially the Gryffindors. Snape wasn't known for favoring anyone besides Slytherin. Liana was right beside me, well on the other side of the room but she was visible. She gave a small head wave before turning all attention to her brew. "LAVENDER WEASLEY" Snape's voice lashed out at a Lavender in the back. Lavender replied "Yes, Professor.." biting her lip tucking her fingers under the table. "Well..." Snape said, swishing towards her like water, escaping the drain. "What have we got here?" Everyone turned to see Lavender's cauldron, pink water was bubbling inside. "Pink? Is that your favorite color?" Lavender didn't look up from her lap. "WHY ISN'T THIS WATER GREEN?" Snape howled. The Slytherin's snickered. Liana didn't. Although she was trying not to, an unnoticeable smile escaped her lips. "Class dismissed..head to your common rooms.." Snape's smile largened. "30 points from Gryffindor" WHAT? I thought angrily 'WHAT ABOUT THE 40 POINTS I EARNED IN CHARMS' Snape wasn't fair. This wasn't even fair. Lavender turned pink and fumbled to get up from her seat. The teachers led us out the hallways. "Pink tunes" A perfect said to the Fat Lady, not looking up from their polished badge which they seemed to be getting dirt off of. The door opened and the safety...safety of the Gryffindor common room swallowed us all...
