Chapter 9 Lets Meet Everyone Again And Lets Not Make It Awkward! Sonic’s POV My eyes opened as the sound of my alarm clock went off. I turned it off and stood up, but immediately fell back down backwards because I got up too fast. I clutched my head, feeling woozy. Maybe I should call off work today… No. I already basically blew off work yesterday because I got kidnapped, I should go. I put on my gloves and opened the door to my room. I looked to my left to find Shadow leaning against the wall, sleeping. Or at least, I thought so. The light shone on him, and made his red streaks even more iconic. I didn’t even notice what he was wearing. He was wearing a black suit with his tie untucked. He looked as if he came straight from Men in Black. I suddenly felt very under-dressed in my duck-printed pajamas. I went back into my room, got some fresh clothes, and headed to the bathroom. I was about to close the door when a voice said, “Cute pajamas.” I rolled my eyes and closed the door and got dressed. I opened my mirror compartment and took out my container of pills. I took about seven, and left the bathroom. I headed for the kitchen, opened the fridge, and grabbed a Push-Pop. I saw Shadow leaning against the entrance door, watching me. I scoffed and threw him one too. I leaned against the refrigerator and pushed the pop. He joined me and we ate our Pops in silence. Awkward silence. “So, you don’t eat a real breakfast?” I was startled by the question, but answered. “My butler, Jade, usually makes my meals for me, but they’re currently at a Championship right now so I just have to make do on my own.” “Huh.” We stood like that for a moment, but it felt ages. Then I felt a shuffle beside me and turned towards the sound. Shadow threw his finished Push-Pop into the trash. “Alright,” he said and grabbed my car keys. “I’m driving.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We arrived at “Mountain Movies”(what? It's def not a bootleg of Paramount Pictures whaaaa???), walked past the security, walked into a couple of buildings and reached the set. “Hey Sonic.” I turned around to see Knuckles with a smug look strolling up to him with one arm around Rouge’s waist, who was walking beside him. “Do you like the new living arrangements?” Knuckles asked mischievously. Rouge rolled her eyes. I guess he filled her in on it. Rouge looked at Shadow. “Hey Shadz, good to see you again.” She sounded a little salty when she greeted him. Everyone was pissed because of the incident. “Always a pleasure, Rouge.” He responded with the same tone. Silence. “Don’t worry, I filled everyone in on the new sitch, to spare you the time. I see you on set in a bit.” Knuckles and Rouge walked away, and I could hear their conversation trailing away. “Don’t be so hard on him, he just got kidnapped!” “Pfft! Don’t mean anything! He got a,” He paused. “Good night’s sleep.” I heard a soft chuckle and a loud slap. “Ow!” Good job Rouge. I walked towards the set, to see Silver talking to Charmy. It has been a while since I’ve talked to him. He recently got engaged with Espio and they both took some time off after that. Tails would probably update him on what's happened, but I wanted to do it myself. “Hey Silver!” I said as Charmy walked away to do his, well, “Charmy” things. Silver turned to look at him. “Oh hey, Sonic and uh…” Silver stared at Shadow. Riiight…. Silver and Shadow did have a shaky past together. They were like siblings… before the incident. They used to be as close as ever. I changed the subject. “Congratulations Silver!” Silver blinked and turned his head towards me, his eyes warming up again. “Oh thanks Sonic! I really am sorry for taking all that time off, I hope it didn’t mess up the schedule or anything…” “Don’t be sorry Silver! You and Espio really needed that time off and I’m happy that you both took your time to get engaged and recollect yourselves to be back here with us!! And, you are right, a lot of things have happened since then. Did Tails or Knuckles already tell you?” “Knuckles.” Of course. So much for being the first one. “Cool. See you when we start.” I turned around in the opposite direction and walked away. I glanced back to see Silver waving back and Espio walking up to him, hugging him from behind. At least someone’s love life is going well. Thinking this, I glanced back at Shadow, remembering the good times. Times before things were way complicated. I walked a few rounds around the movie set to find Tails and Amy walking together, probably discussing the new, uh, events. Amy spotted me and then walked up to me, hugging me. “Oh my god, Sonic! Are you okay? Tails told me everything.” She glanced up at Shadow, her face expressionless towards him. She turned back towards me. “Any injuries or anything? I could help you treat them.” “Nah, don’t worry Ames. I did have a small limp last night, but when I woke up, it wasn’t there anymore.”

It's like it got fixed all by itself, or someone else treated it, but that would make no sense. Who could it have been?” I ignored the question and turned towards Tails. “Hey bud. Any new updates?” “None. Because of yesterday’s ‘Get Kidnapped by a Stranger or a Super-Fan,’ session, your schedule is the same today. We better get to the set quick, I bet Knuckles is losing mind that both the male and female leads are both suddenly missing.” “Your right buddy,” I turned around and almost ran into Shadow. Man he was tall. Probably like 6’5 or something. I blushed and put my arm in the air pointing forward. “Onward!” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Arriving back home, I flopped down on the couch and groaned. The whole day people were eye-ing me and Shadow while doing the things on the schedule and it made me cringe, hard. “Fun day, huh?” “Not really.” I was about to say that he couldn’t be talking, but then suddenly keys were clinging and the door opened. Jade. My butler. On the most perfect timing, ever. This was going to be a fun conversation. SORRY CHAT I HAD TO THROW IN THAT MOVIE BUT IT WAS GOOD TRUST ;-;
