These are refs of the four main characters of ROD! Descriptions are below ♡‐--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------♡ ×Osprey× (brown male with tan underbelly and spots with yellow eyes) [ISFJ] Osprey loves to be witty and funny all the time, and loves to have a good time. He pretends to be chill b̶u̶t̶ i̶s̶ a̶c̶t̶u̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ v̶e̶r̶y̶ p̶r̶o̶t̶e̶c̶t̶i̶v̶e̶ <-- but is actually a big buff dude. Wow what a buff dude he is He often cheers on for others and rarely thinks about himself, sometimes forgetting to take care of himself. He hates change and is not very adaptable. He loves traditions and does his best to keep them. He does sometimes need alone time, and usually finds it up in a tree. He loves his friends and will do anything they want as long as he gets to hang out with them. (His friends sometimes say that he's a big pushover) ♡---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------♡ ~Coral~ (sandy colered female with pinkish patterns and baby blue eyes) [ESJF] Coral likes to talk. Like, a LOT. She just goes forever and often has to cut herself off. She is obsessed with swimming and dosent like trees very much. Emotions confuse her, and she really tries not to feel anything but happy, though sometimes she takes it too far. She is a bit of a people-pleaser and is sensitive to criticism. She actually loves change, and rarely stays in one place. She tries to be kind and understanding but will become fierce when she needs to. ♡---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------♡ ☆Quail☆ (gray female with black and white markings and teal eyes) [INTP] Quails emotions can kind of be all over the place and sometimes needs to take a break to get her emotions under control. Being with her friends mostly helps, but sometimes gets her emotions riled up again. Quail is definitely very nosy, but won't try to pry when she can tell it matters. She often tries to read between the lines a lot, sometimes too much. She likes to make the most wild conclusions to questions even if there's only a little evidence for it. She is very impatient and has very bad FOMO. ♡----------------------------------------------------------‐----‐‐----------------------♡ ◇Cherry◇ (russet colored female with bright green eyes) [INFP] Cherry has trouble making eye contact and will avoid it if she can. She is the most obvious introvert out of the group and likes alone time. She's very quiet but can get very loud when she's having fun. She is very emotionally mature and can handle her own emotions very well. She understands other people's emotions, but isn't always sure what to do about it. She forgives easily and is empathetic, but never talks about it. She's very insecure and always mumbles when she's focused. ♡-----------------------------------------‐---------------------------------------------♡ ¥•CREATION PROCESS IS IN NOTES AND CREDITS•¥
Song is feeling free by David fesliyan Art and characters are by me ♡---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------♡ Chapter 3 is almost done ♡---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------♡ ¥•Creation process•¥ I think before I even came up of the concept of ROD, I made Cherry. I hadn't been drawing all summer, but I decided to get back into it since I had nothing else to do. The first thing I ever drew after my long hiatus was a small little cat with droopy fluff and glasses. I decided that I liked her design and started playing around with her more. I flipped her around in different series ideas, but they never stuck. I'm not actually sure when I came up with the idea of ROD, but I'm pretty sure the name came before anything else and I built up a series around that. (Note: I did not steal the name idea from meadowfoot's "magic die" seires. I came up with it before I even knew it existed) I made a big Google doc with everything I wanted in it, but it still remained just and idea that I thought I would lose interest in. But I didn't, I kept adding things and changing the Google doc and even started to design some characters for it. Osprey came because I was watching a nature documentary in biology class and I absolutely adored the name "osprey". I looked up a few pictures and designed a character that looked roughly like one with some of my own flairs. He was originally female but I decided that I wanted at least one male lol. Corals design was based on a picture I saw a long time ago that I can't remember now. I just remember that I loved the colors and wanted to design my own character with some of those colors. I'm not sure why I wanted a beachy vibe to her but I did. The name came to me naturally when I was thinking of beachy names and I was also re-reading wing of fire at the time. I worked the hardest on corals design if you couldn't tell. Quails design also started with the name. For some reason I was obsessed with bird names and almost made all four of my main characters named after birds. They're cute alright! Finch, sandpiper, wren, crane, robin, etc. ain't they cute? I had to limit myself two main characters to be named after birds, but there will definitely be side characters named after birds haha. Quail and osprey were my favorite at the time so I decided to go with those. Quails design was actually kind of hard because a lot of quails actually have brown patterns but I didn't want her to be brown since I already had a brown cat. I tired my best on her design and tweaked it around a lot. She didn't have the back spots for a long time but she looked kind of bare so I added them. I eventually settled on this design witch is simple but not too boring. As you know, Cherry started as a simple sketch on paper. I was surprised that it didn't look like a blob of trash since I hadn't been drawing for a long time. I decided to play around with her more. She was originally in a series that had no name, but I eventually lost instrest in it. I thought she looked a little like alderheart from warrior cats, so I gave her his colors as well. I don't even remember when I started calling her cherry, but I think it was just a placeholder name until I could think of something better. But that went on for so long that I could never get used to calling her something else.
