Description

PLEASE PRAY FOR MY BEST FRIEND, STRYDER! I ONLY HAVE HAD HIM FOR 2 YEARS! PLEASE!! I SHOWED HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OBEDIANCE THIS YEAR! IN FACT, IT WAS ONLY THE DAY BEFORE YESTERDAY! HE MUST OF BEEN IN PAIN, BUT HE DID IT BECAUSE HE LOVED ME SO MUCH! PLEASE, PEOPLE! YOU DON'T KNOW HOW CUDDLY HE IS AND HOW MUCH HE LIKES TO SNUGGLE WITH PEOPLE!! AND HOW HE BURRIES HIS FACE IN-BETWEEN MY LEGS MAKES ME LAUGH EACH TIME!! IF YOU KNEW HIM IN REAL LIFE, YOU WOULD KNOW WHY I'M SO SAD!! EVERYONE WHO MEETS HIM SAYS HE IS A GREAT DOG! AND I DON'T CARE IF I'M NOT MAKING SENCE RIGHT NOW, I'M TOO SAD TO CARE! JUST PLEASE PRAY AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!!! D'''''''''''': UPDATE 7/13/2010, 5:06: Stryder got to come back home and they got done with his x-rays. I don't know if he has any extra cancer growth anywhere else in his body, but I do know that the x-ray showed that at one point in his life he got shot in the hip with a BB gun! We got Stryder from Northern Lights Sled-Dog Rescue. They said he was found as a stray. When we got him he was collar aggressive. (Which means he would try to bite us if we tried to touch near his collar). Luckily, he doesn't do that anymore, though. Right now Stryder is laying on a bed of blankets licking his leg where he got his shot. But now I'm hearing he might not have been shot by a BB gun, but a REAL gun! Oh, and I also found out there is no cancer anywhere else in his body, which is good. I just gave him some soup too! :) I'm feeling much better. UPDATE 7/13/2010, 5:22: It was a BB gun, BUT it's actually in his hip BONE! He would of have to been shot at CLOSE RANGE to get in his BONE!! His tumer is the size of a plum, though.. :( UPDATE 7/14/2010, 10:56: Stryder is doing very good. He's just sleeping on his bed right now. (Though, that's not really abnormal... He always sleeps, even when he wasn't sick..) He ate this morning, which was good. (We always give him some noodle soup mixed in with his food, so then he'll eat it better.) He didn't go to the bathroom YET today, which is kinda bad, but it's only the beginning of the day, so I'm not too worried yet. I also gave him a slice of pizza last night just because he's sick. UPDATE 7/14/2010 6:03: We found out what kind of cancer Stryder has, but I forgot the name... But it's the really bad kind of cancer.... Tomorrow we're taking him to the vet to see if we should put him down, or try the treatment.... If the vet there decides it's worth trying the treatment, it will cost 10s of thousands to do it. He will probably loose some of his fur, and it will be very painful. And the most he'll live is a year or two... I think every month we'll have to take him somewhere to do this thing... And, if he does live a year, it will be a painful year. I want to do the treatment, but I don't want Stryder to be in pain, and I'm worried about how much it costs... We are all very sad right now. )': UPDATE 7/14/2010, 6:36: Stryder finally went to the bathroom today, which is a good sign... And I think I heard good news from my mom just now... I'm just tired of my hopes going up, and then being shattered... I just want to know this question; Is he going to live or die? UPDATE 7/15/2010. 10:47: I've got good news! (Finally.) We took Stryder to the emergency vet today to see if it was realistic to try the treatment (I had to stay home, but my mom and dad went with Stryder), and they said right now, the tumar is at a stage 0. Which means we found out about the tumar as soon as we could. And that's good. But, my mom said it can skip to a stage 3 quickly, so we have to work quickly. He will never be able to do agility or obedience again, but I don't care. As long as he lives a happy healthy live. And since his cancer is at a stage 0 right now, it might mean they don't have to do this one kind of therapy that might make him lose fur. AND he might not be sick for as long! He's still at the emergency clinic, because they want to run some tests on him to make sure the cancer hasn't spread anywhere else. So don't get your hopes TOO high. Because if the tumar spread anywhere else, we'll HAVE to put him down. Oh! And we also found out that he didn't get shot by a BB gun, but a SHOTGUN! My dad said that shotguns are powerful guns and they hurt a lot. But we're not going to bother to take the bullet out, because they said it's obviously not bothering him anymore. And I THINK we have the money to do this! But, we won't be able to get Christmas presents or birthday presents, but I don't care. My mom also has to sell her Nook, but she hasn't really used it much anyway... UPDATE 7/18/2010 12:45: Sorry I didn't tell you guys this before, but I've been to sad to go on. All this stuff in this update take place on the 7/15/2010. I hope you take the time to read my last and final update of my best friend, and the truly best dog in the world, Stryder. We got news from the emergency clinic after they did the ultrasound. They found out his cancer spread everywhere in his body. They were spreading into his kidney and liver... If we did do treatment, he would be very sick and he would only live a month longer... So we decided to make the most painful decision of my life.... putting him down.. We where all very, very sad on the drive to the emergency clinic. I brought a few stuffed animals that resembled him and a shirt that I wore for my other dog's death. When they brought him into the room he looked tired, because they had given him a shot to make him tired for the ultrasound. They had a blue blanket laying on the ground for him. He laid right on it and we all started petting him. I picked up Stryder's head and put it on my lap. The vet gave him the shot that would put him to sleep and after a few minutes, his heart stopped... As soon as his head rolled off my lap my heart shattered. We buried Stryder in the backyard under his favorite tree. I still set up his bed every night. And I have all of his other stuff on my bed. I also hanged a picture up on the wall with him in it. My last words to Stryder were "Good bye, old friend." ♥♥♥Stryder♥♥♥
