Instructions

1) space bar to launch the cannon (or to stop an orbit) 2) up/down to change the speed 3) right/left to rotate cannon 4) a/d to rotate mountain Keep the cannon-ball in orbit for 150 steps to get to the next level. The high score is only for level 3 & 4. Let me know the parameters if a stable orbit is found for level 3 & 4. Featured August 21. Thanks all! I don't know why all high scores aren't saved. (I should have saved the winning parameters as well.) Edit: Changed it so it's possible to stop a stable orbit by pressing space again. There is still some bug with the cloud variables (high score) not saving. Edit: Changed it so it's possible to fine tune the parameter-changes for level 3 & 4. Press s while pressing another key to make smaller changes. Stable orbits for 3 planets: Speed=10.17...CA=77...MA=0 Speed=10.2...CA=84...MA=345 Stable orbit for 4 planets: Speed=9.733...CA=-70...MA=7.5 Thanks to amattingly and wallaceprime Ohhh, several more stable loops mentioned by amattingly.

Description

The first level is a thought experiment described by Sir Isaac Newton in order to explain gravity. A cannon is standing on a VERY HIGH mountain ... The planets are nailed to the outer space. The first picture is taken from "A Treatise of the System of the World" by Sir Isaac Newton: http://books.google.se/books/about/A_Treatise_of_the_System_of_the_World.html?id=rEYUAAAAQAAJ&redir_esc=y
