Chapter one ✉ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- My heart leapt as Hermione, my older sister, brought a cat out of the Magical Menagerie shop from across the path. She held it tight before smiling and handing it to me. It had orange fur and big eyes. "You excited for Hogwarts, Lucy?" she asked, giving me the small ball of furry joy. In fact I was, too exited to even reply. I stood there, cat in my arms, trunk by my side. I felt a whoosh of silent relief. Ever since my Hogwarts letter had arrived, my mood had completely changed. Hermione waved a hand in front of my face, teasingly. "You awake?" she laughed, pulling me away from the bustle of hurrying students and parents, looking for supplies in Diagon Ally. Mom put a hand on my shoulder, "Your going to do good in studies?" she asked softly. I rolled my eyes, "Ace em'? No problem!" As far as I was excited, I was also nervous. What if I didn't make friends? What if I forgot how to brew "Cure for boils"? Worst of all, what if I didn't get sorted into Gryffindor?! My worries were shaken away with a swoop as we mindlessly got out of the alley, and drove away...
