Click Green Flag for Political Map, Press space for alliance/war map, and type 1 for news/events --------------------------------Lore----------------------------------- Starting in 1683, the Ottomans began a campaign to attempt to seize Vienna. However, when the Polish cavalry approached to break the siege of the city, the Ottomans retreated and sued for peace, leading to no loss of land on either side, but the Ottomans have begun their decline. 15 years later, the great Northern War broke out and Charles XII enjoyed victories agains the Polish, just like in real life. However, unlike in our timeline, he did not go to war with Russia, instead ceding baltic land and allowing the Russians under Peter the Great to build St. Petersburg. Charles then led a conquest of Norway against the Danes. Despite the Russians "victory" the Swedish remained the dominant power in the Baltics, thus leading to the formation of the Warsaw pact to defend against the Ottomans, Swedes and Habsburgs. Meanwhile, in Western Europe, the war of Spanish Succesion broke out, starting with overwhelming French victories, leading to the conquest of Savoy, Switzerland and the Lowlands(Belgium). The expansion of Milan and France into Italy threatened the Italian states, now surrounded by four major powers, Austria, France, Spain and the Ottomans, formed the Italian League, led by Venice. Meanwhile, France decided to strengthen their alliance with Bavaria, marrying the Bavarian monarchs into the Bourbon Dynasty, rather than the Habsburgs, and doing the same with Sweden. Meanwhile, the French were unable to defeat Charles, the Habsburg with a claim to the Spanish throne, who set up the Crown of Aragon in Barcelona. Meanwhile, Phillip V set up the Crown of Castille in Aragon. The war began to slow down and stalemated, but is not over yet, however the Bourbon Faction did have more success early on. As for the Habsburgs, both the Netherlands and Great Britain married into the Habsburg family, creating the Habsburg Coalition against the French Bourbon Dynasty.
