81 Years ago, the largest Amphibious Invasion in History took place. At 12:00 Am Paratroopers dropped behind enemy lines. Then in the morning it began. Shells, Mortar Fire, an all out hell to most but they pushed on and at the end of the day the beaches were ours. But it didn’t end there...
D-Day Plus 2. The day after the invasion, all the supplies needed to the invasions success came to the beaches. Tanks, Artillery, and Jeeps. My Great Grandfather came as a driver of one of those Jeeps. He made his way through Europe, collecting items from the Na - zis and awarded the Purple Heart (Given when injured in Battle) He brought these things back home where we still own them. He was lucky. Most boys never made it home that day. Those who did were in coffins. We remember their Sacrifice this day to free the world of the Na - zis grip. Let us never forget.
