So this is my rankings from favorite to least favorite, if you like this series as much as I do, just know that these rankings are just my opinion. 1. The Pink Panther Strikes Again: This one has a funny start, which is a good sign because it proves that this will only get better from that point, the ending is very strong and is also quite funny, the title sequence was well done, I really like the parodies done on it. 2. The Return of the Pink Panther: Sir Charles from the first film (who'll I'll talk about when I get to that) takes the Pink Panther diamond again... or does he? That's when Clouseau gets up to his antics trying to make sure the case is "solve-ed" as he would say, I really love the scene where he kept calling the chimp a "minkey" like that got me good, the other mispronounced words like "reum" and "phuen" also got me. 3. A Shot in the Dark: This one, idk if you'd count it as a Pink Panther movie but, it has Clouseau, Dreyfus and Cato, who'd be major characters in the next few films, Dreyfus and Cato were in the films after Peter Sellers' death too, anyways, in this one, Clouseau tries to prove Maria Gambrelli innocent after she keeps getting attached to death, the bit where Clouseau kept getting arrested was funny tho. 4. Revenge of the Pink Panther: Clouseau is presumed to be gone from the earth after the leader of a crime gang gets rid of the wrong guy, Cato ends up turning the apartment of the inspector into a club, which of course makes Clouseau angry, they end up going to Hong Kong to put an end to the gang's crime, gotta say the song that plays in the final battle/chase is very great, Henry Mancini cooked on that one. 5. The Pink Panther: The one that started it all, but also, this was all over the place in my opinion, Clouseau is more of a minor character and I'm pretty sure we focus more on Sir Charles Litton (played by David Niven) the title sequence was good tho, and so was "It had better be tonight" which was the film's original song. 6. Trail of the Pink Panther: This one, is just filler, reused scenes from all the movies we talked about so far and also some new scenes, the movie was made to honor Peter Sellers because he died before this film was made, Sellers was gonna work on a film without Blake Edwards called "Romance of the Pink Panther" but ofc it got scrapped. 7. Curse of the Pink Panther: This is the first of 2 films where there's a new hero, the one on this film is named Clifton Sleigh, he is basically New York's version of Jacques Clouseau, other than the fact that Mr. Sleigh isn't an inspector, this film had 3-4 moments that made me laugh but, that's below how much the other films have made me laugh. 8. Son of the Pink Panther: So, this is the final film of the series and all I gotta say is, this really should not have ended the series, I think capping it off on Trail would've been ok, Curse was fine but this only really had one moment I liked, other than that, I can't remember half of what I saw in it, I saw this movie last week and I already forgot what happened, Jacques Gambrelli saying words like his dad would was a nice touch in my opinion however. (fact: this is the last film Edwards ever directed in his career before retiring, it was also Henry Mancini's last music score on any film before his death 1 year later in 1994) Note: "Inspector Clouseau" from 1968 isn't here because that was directed by Bud Yorkin and I won't count it, plus I haven't even watched it
