One morning Nyx arrives back to the camp, but her eyes are dark and sleepless, her heart heavy with regret and anger as she walks to her tent. There were a few people there, that had not been there before, talking to James, who glanced over with a small smile before walking over. "Hey." She looks up, forcing a smile "Hello," She replies with a distant voice unlike her own. "You okay?" The boy tilted his head slightly, walnut colored waves falling into his eyes, She nods "Y-yeah, I'm just tired." She replies, which isn't a complete lie. "Alright." He nodded, voice gentle. "We have some visitors from the new treaty with Maritrea, if you ever want to say hi." "Oh, okay. Sure." She nods, needing a distraction. "Great!" James smiled brightly, looking back at the people. "Nox, Len, Ailsa, Oliver, this is Nyx." Oliver blinked, looking at her. "...hello." She freezes when her eyes land on Oliver, her hands clench at her sides but she remains composed otherwise "Oh, hello." She says politely. "It has been a while since our last meeting." He spoke slowly, his words measured and careful, She nods curtly, her eyes narrowing "It has, I heard rumors you joined the resistance, but never did find out for sure. Most think you are dead." "Yes, that was intentional, considering I did set fire to the palace." His voice was dry when he responded, tinged with faint sarcastic humor. She raises an eyebrow "This is the first I've heard of the fire," She replies, though she doesn't seem to interested. "You didn't hear of a 'mysterious vigilante committing the heinous crime of Imperial-focused arson'?" Oliver matched her expression. Her eyes widen slightly "Pft, I guess not." She crosses her arms. "Yes, they greatly exaggerated the damage I caused," he shrugged slightly. "How have you been?" She tenses at his question, "I've been well," she says "Same old same old, you?" "Well enough, what about Xavier?" Her composure falters, deep emotions bubble near the surface "He... is doing well for himself." She says in a strained voice. "Found himself a girl."
