Instructions

[English] Mini-Game Madness - Scratch Week 2025 ----- Ready, set, game on! Today’s studio is all about small games with big energy. A mini-game is a short, focused gaming experience with a simple objective and limited mechanics. It can be completed in a relatively short amount of time and is often designed to be replayed, explored, or remixed. Whether it’s a zany obstacle course, a one button-clicker game challenge, a carnival style game, or a goofy game with surprise twists, we can’t wait to see what kind of mini-games you will create. Simple, silly, and super fun is the name of the game! Looking for ideas to get started? - Make a game where you dodge falling objects or collect items against the clock (you might check out the timer blocks under Sensing or wait blocks). - Design a game that uses just one button to play. Jump, dodge, or collect items with perfect timing! - Pretend you are a journalist writing up a story about the latest and greatest in mini-game madness. Write up the story and share it with your “editors” in a project. - Create a carnival themed project with one or more of your favorite carnival style games (such as whack-a-mole, claw machine, ring toss, etc). - Design a game where colors change quickly and the player has to click, match, or move fast to win. - Create artwork of your favorite mini-game in action and share it with us in the studio! - Make a puzzle mini-game where players swap, rotate, or match things quickly to score points. - Already have a favorite mini-game? Remix it and add a twist! Try “reverse controls,” random challenges, or unexpected power-ups. Looking for some tips or ideas on making your games a little more interactive or complex? Check out these coding cards: https://resources.scratch.mit.edu/www/cards/en/conditionalstatement-cards.pdf AND https://resources.scratch.mit.edu/www/cards/en/variablelist-cards.pdf Remember, these are only suggestions! You’re welcome to come up with your own ideas or take inspiration from projects already in the studio. What will you create? =^..^=
