As mentioned in the original projects, they are guarded by UAT soldiers and when they see a threat [they can see what is in the other side of the portal] they close the portal, and they cannot get through. So, this never happened. Also the UAT will try the Krasnodar leader because the treaty says to not attack the UAT.
