Hi guys. I’m going to start with the bad news first. So Legends of Jubruna hasn’t had another chapter in a bazillion years, and I want to explain why. First of all, I’m creating a bunch of new projects that I’m really passionate about, like a watercolor comic for my school newspaper, random other art, and I also tend to go all-out on school projects because it’s fun. I have no trouble working on these, even though they take a long time (case in point: I worked on a six square foot poster for five hours straight for an assignment that wasn’t worth any credit, but I had SO MUCH FUN LOL). But when I work on LoJ, I don’t feel as driven to complete it. LoJ was created over three years ago. Back then, I was very different (you were too. It was the pandemic. Don’t act like you weren’t haha) and had different interests than now. I also wasn’t in the best place mentally. During all this, I started making LoJ, albeit an early version that looks a lot worse than the version on my profile today, and set up the basic first part of the story. I kept continuing it, then started over with better art, then kept continuing it again. The problem with this is that I had kinda boxed myself into that story I made in 2021. I started adding plot elements and embellishing the story. I actually enjoyed the things I added to the story more than the real story. Iago and Ronia, my favorite characters, didn’t exist for like the first year or two of LoJ. Also, when I first planned out LoJ, I DIDN’T KNOW HOW THE STORY WOULD GO AT ALL so I kind of added random elements that I wanted to tie together to make a cool story later. When I redid LoJ I had a slightly better idea of what I wanted to do, but I was still limited by stuff I didn’t want to get rid of from the original story. I started writing a sort of script for everything that needed to happen with LoJ in 2022. But the problem was, the script just kept going… and going… and goiiinnnngggg... 2021 me just planned out the first bit of the story and was like “Ok! I’m ready to start now!” which is a really bad idea. Anyway, the middle parts of LoJ are a bunch of gigantic boring things, like battles and going to school and having funny dreams, which is ok but a lot of the chapters would take a long time to make, and there would be a lot of them, meaning LoJ would take an insanely long time to finish, and it wouldn’t even be that good, because battles and school are ok but it is very hard to balance three (four if you count Sigor) separate storylines without spending too long one one or the other and also making an engaging story that goes forward at a good pace and has a satisfying end. So, simply put, Jubruna would never end because 2021 Me didn’t know how to end it. I’m not as passionate about Jubruna anymore, the story isn’t my best work, and I don’t even know how I’m supposed to even make the story. So is LoJ canceled? Yes. I’m sorry I didn’t say this earlier, it wasn’t very nice of me to leave everyone in the dark about that. However, LoJ is very important to me, and it’s important to a few of you as well. I grew a LOT while making it, physically, mentally, and art-skillswise. But by growing, I’ve grown out of some things. So, it is probably very, very unlikely a finished chapter of LoJ will come out. That being said, I have sketches for several chapters that I will release (links at the bottom) and I will share the script for the overarching plot of LoJ (and you will see what I meant about the middle bits being long and boring). And of course, the LoJ characters will still hang around. I’ll make them have little cameos and stuff. You don’t spend over three years on something and not have it become part of your identity. I think you guys will like the new stuff I have. I’ll put the links at the end. Thank you for supporting LoJ. It really means a lot to me (really really!). GOOD NEWS IN THE NOTES AND CREDITS BECAUSE IT GOT TOO LONG LOL

Description

Read above first, this ↓ is the second part :D ok after that downer HEYYYYY GUESS WHAT IT’S GOOD NEWS TIME! Remember how I said in the beginning that I have other stuff that I’m passionate about? I was kind of hesitating on sharing that because A. I wanted to share this first and B. I kinda made a rule for myself that everything has to be a big cool complete project to share here, but I want to have some sort of way to track my projects and I think that just sharing cool things I make is a good way to do that. So from now on, I’m gonna just post fun stuff I make or do or whatever, and I think it’ll be rewarding for me because I get a nice visual of my progress and for you because you get to see funny little cartoons every once in a while :) Here’s what I plan to do in the very near future. These are things that are already finished or easy to make: Share the watercolor comic I’m making for my school newspaper Share a comic about the immune system I made at the beginning of the school year Share my favorite doodles from the school year School projects (like the five hour one I mentioned before) Shameless plug for my Artfight! WOOO! link below And here’s what I plan to do in the long run. These aren’t concrete things that already exist, more of stuff to expect later down the road: Share cool doodles I made during a month or a few months Sewing projects I make Blender projects I make School projects I make (these are the real doozies) Any other projects I make (I might start carving wood or something who knows) I’m excited for what’s to come!
