The Russians destroyed the combined Western forces(France, Britain, Ottomans) at Sofia, winning a decisive victory, and crippling France to a minor power with heavy war reparations. The Russians then began to dismantle the Western colonies, gaining a sphere of influence over Iran. However, before Russia can march on Constantinople, the Germans, Austrians and Swedes invade Russia, forcing the Russians to abandon the Balkans. During this time, Italy jumps in to support Russia, seizing territory from France, and the French occupied Albania. Meanwhile, Swedish troops seize Helsinki, annexing Finland, while German troops reach Moscow, leading to Russia's surrender, and harsh division by the Germans. Unfortuanately, Germany's ally, Austria, collapses from the strain of war. This leads to Germany annexing the German majority regions of the empire, as well as Yugoslavia gaining some territory(Serbian-Montenegro union), but before Romania and Italy can take their claims, Britain sends troops to Hungary threatening war with any invaders, and Hungary stabalises the rest of the former Hapsburg Empire. Meanwhile, with British troops distracted in Central Europe, a German-backed Spanish invasion of Portugal leads to the formation of the Iberian Union. Four years after the war ended in 1915, the Russian states established the Russian Confederation, hoping for eventual reunification, which, should it occur, would create a Russia capable of defeating the rest of Europe single-handedly. The nations have spent the last five years since the war consolidating their spheres of influence, leading Sweden to unite Scandinavia.
