James Dietrich was a composer for Walter Lantz productions from 1930-1937, here are (in my opinion) some of his best works: 10. The Oswald theme was great, but everything else was eh. 9. The song the mice sing when they want pennies is quite good imo, I also like the way they put the 3 blind mice song in throughout the desert scene. 8. The chase scene has a banger playing and let's be honest, James Dietrich is a master at chase music. 7. The whole cartoon has this nice song that is named after the cartoon, and also some of the underscore is great too. 6. This cartoon introduced "Dancing to a Tom-Tom" which would be used in 2 more cartoons, the cartoon "Robinson Crusoe Isle" gives that cue it's name. 5. Again, the chase music goes hard. 4. The song that's sung in it is so good, and the instrumental chase version is catchy. 3. The chase music again is very great. 2. The song that plays when the Natives attack goes so hard like any cartoon about Natives attacking always have BG music that goes so hard. 1. Nah, this soundtrack is way too good, Universal should've made a vinyl with this soundtrack on here ngl, I would've bought it, I said it many times but, James Dietrich really cooked on this, also it sort of reminds me of a Tom & Jerry soundtrack in a way, I'm not a big fan of the Meany, Miny & Moe cartoons but, this is my fav from that series.
Walter Lantz, Universal & ofc James Dietrich
