This is a Scratch Microworld. It has a reduced set of blocks and sprites designed for making projects on a theme. The theme for this Microworld is Hull as the UK City of Culture. Click on the different sprites and you will see that they have a selection of blocks chosen to be used with that sprite. Drag the blocks around and join them together to create a script.
I think it would be a great idea for some of the children (and adults) of Hull to make some Scratch projects to showcase Hull as the UK City of Culture during 2017. To this end I've having a go at making a Scratch Microworld to provide an access route into Scratch for those who haven't yet had much experience with Scratch.
