[ tw: mentions of death ] stars. he couldn't believe it. yet another addition to the line of headstones before him. this was cruel. oh, this was so darn cruel. hadn't his parents been enough? chasmpaw had swore he'd listened. he knew to be wary, he did! why did the hands of fate think otherwise? "..cray..." did it have to be /her/? it sounded horrible, but out of his three siblings, crayfishpaw had been his favourite. quirky and creative, a beam of light admist the darkness. she was so... innocent. "..oh, cray-" chasmpaw inches closer, wrapping his paws around the cold stone. she didn't deserve this. it was his fault wasn't it? if he hadn't been so /stupid/ then maybe this wouldn't have happened. "you didn't deserve this.." what a wonderful gift for apprenticeship. maybe it was just teaching him not to get too excited. he was learning how to fight afterall, fate just wanted him to be humble and stay safe. but, why must death be their way of teaching? it wasn't that hard to just.. let somebody live for once! did they have to target those so close to him? chasmpaw lifts his head to gaze up at the twinkling stars. wonder which one could be cray? and ma and dad? did they /really/ becomes stars after they passed? or.. was that just a tale to keep them at bay? who knows. it wasn't worth worrying about right now anyways. he still had apprenticeship to focus on. right, he wasn't a 'kit' anymore, and therefore he didn't have the time to act like one. chasmpaw needed to be sure he wasn't caught off guard like all those up in the stars. chasmpaw wanted to be ready when death embraced him.
