while the coderican orbital bombardments are indeed weakening canterlot's defences, we really can't do anything about it since our space fleet is either captured or destroyed. however we would send royal gaurd members and wonderbolts members to the frontlines in the north and south to combat TUPES union forces, however not much is able to be done to break through the lines due to lack of military experience compared to TUPES union troops, this confrontation with their forces is made due to them getting dangerously close to canterlot, and the fact that the everfree forest is a very important strategic location as it is next to ponyville.
