The Ahelian Halberd (Alabarda Aheliana) is the main weapon of the Ahelian army. It is a halberd with a small handheld cannon on top of it and hooks to hold a burning slow match cord (a type of cord that burns extremely slowly, much more reliable and lighter than a flint and steel), which is a large part of why they use the weapon. The operation sequence to use it is simple. -You load it, by first pouring some powder into the barrel of the weapon, which is the propellant, you then shove a small lead ball into the barrel, which is the projectile, then you rip a handful of grass out of the ground and place it into the barrel to use as a wad, and then you use a wooden ramrod, or if desperate, a stick, to ram the contents, while giving it a couple of extra taps to compress the powder, which will make the weapon significantly more powerful, and lastly, you pour a pinch of gunpowder into the little hole in the top. -Then you aim it, by holding it with one of your hands close to the head of the halberd, and holding the halberd through the crook of your arm, and then aiming it accordingly. -Lastly, you fire, by rubbing the slow match cord against the gunpowder on the little hole in the top, which will then cause the powder to burn, and the weapon to discharge. The strategy used with this weapon is to exploit Ahelia's numerical advantages (Kobold companies are larger than human companies because kobolds are weaker on their own compared to a human) to fire several demoralizing well-coordinated volleys, which weakens the force a lot, as the inherent innaccuracy is bypassed through the volume of fire, which will tear random holes into the enemy's eyes, in which two outcomes happen; the enemy retreats to regroup, or the Ahelians charge the displaced and shocked enemy, in which the effectiveness of the charge is either 100% or 0%, but due to the timing of the charges being strictly while the enemy is broken, they usually work out pretty good. The strategy is what causes Ahelians to be such innovators at gunpowder warfare.
