(click/space for next) The lowlands of Europe is home to two deer species. The Golden Ree, and the Marsh Hert. The golden ree (Nieuweree Gouden) is a small species of deer living in the woodlands of the Netherlands. They're characterized by their golden patterns. The marsh hert (Tukomsthert Vandedras) are the largest deer species in Europe. They changed their lifestyles to a more semi-aquatic one, roving through the marshy waters of what was once the island of Flevoland, so they could find new lands to graze about.
