So most of you know (I think) that I am a Christian. I love to go to church every Sunday morning, and hang out with my friends and learn more about my savior. I recently heard this song and a few others (which aren't heard in this project) and it reminded me of people who don't believe in God. So bear with me through this long conversation about my thoughts on how to believe and why I believe. Please don't throw hate at me. This is just my opinion. 1. The Creation. Do you think the world just appeared out of nowhere, and that monkeys suddenly evolved into humans? Well you're incorrect. Read Genesis 1 for example: (take notice: this is very simplified.) In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. God said "Let there be light." And it was so. That was the first day. Then God said, "Let there be an expance in the water." And it was so. God said, "Let the land appear." And it was so. That was the third day. Then God said, "Let there be an abundance of plants." And it was so. That was the third day. God said, "Let there be seasons." It was so. That was the fourth day. Then God said they, "Let there be birds, and sea creatures, and animals that roam the earth." And it was so. That was the fifth day. God then said, "Let us make man." So God created man in his own image. On the seventh day was rest, thus the heavens and the earth were created. Wow! That was kind of a lot! Summary of that: God created the universe and everything in it. He created MAN in his own IMAGE! Okay moving on. 2. Easter: He is risen! Roughly 62% of Americans celebrate Easter, but why do we celebrate it? Easter is always on a Sunday. Most people celebrate Easter by hiding eggs and letting people find them. My church does that, but we also celebrate the real meaning of Easter. Jesus was crucified on good Friday. He rose on Easter Sunday. Our pastor has long discussions about Easter and Good Friday on those days. I wasn't at the Good Friday one because I was at @_Echofeather_'s birthday party (go follow her! <3), but I was at the Easter sermon! Echo came too! This is why we say 'He is risen!' At church! Summary: We do NOT celebrate Easter just for the candy, we celebrate Christ's rising. Moving on. 3. Christmas. Only 45% of people celebrate Christ's birth. That's not much. :/ Do you celebrate Christmas? You're celebrating Christ's birthday! Every year, on the 25th of December, I celebrate Christmas by going to relative's houses, and giving gifts. On Christmas Eve, my family goes to the Christmas Eve sermon at our church to learn more about Jesus' birth. 4. How To Go To Heaven Have you heard that if you are very good and don't sin that much that you get to go to heaven? This theory is very incorrect. You have to repent to Jesus or in other words, confess your sin to Jesus. But, this doesn't mean you can be very sinful. It is still good to be a good person. If you don't believe in God/Jesus and confess your sins, you will go to hell. Read the Bible for more information about this. (Look mainly at the Gospels' books/Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) Summary: Confess your sin. 5. How To Pray. In Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus provides a model prayer for us to follow. He tells us to pray to "Our Father in heaven" and to honor his name, Jesus provides model prayer for us to follow ask for his kingdom to come, and for his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. We should also ask for our daily bread, forgiveness of our debts, and to be delivered from temptation and evil. Jesus also tells us to pray in our room with our door shut and to keep our recital of the Lord's prayer compact. Summary: It is good to pray! Welp! I hope you enjoyed me ranting on and on about God! This took two weeks, so please appreciate my work and don't report me! Shalom! (have peace)
