[ tw: mentions of death ] the light hum of the sandflies in the nearby greenery would fill his ears, accompanied by the rhythmic crash of the ocean waves. all was quiet at this hour. it was somewhat peaceful, suppose. but, regardless it felt pretty lonely out here. it didn't help that.. well. chasmkit screwed his eyes shut, exhaling slowly. wow. he couldn't believe this. it had happened too quick, painfully quick. no goodbyes whatsoever. his gaze lingered on the two stones in front of him, etched with intricate patterns. why did this have to happen? why did they, why did /he/ deserve this? was this all about not falling to manipulation? the tides stole his mother and a clanmate's claws his father. you couldn't trust anybody. you had to be careful. ignore the tides when they beckon you close and watch your back around cats you trust. chasmkit loved this clan of his. the pride from his father when those words had left his lips. he was not leaving urchinclan behind, ever. it was a lesson, something to teach him the importance of keeping his guard up. and, so he would. but.. did a lesson need to be taught with such cruelty? he could feel the tears welling in his indigo eyes. it stuck better if taught in such manner, though that didn't justify it, did it? how else were you supposed to get one to listen? chasmkit was certainly listening. if he didn't, he may as well end up like them. /them/. his eyes found the rocks once more. chasmkit wasn't going to end up like this. buried beneath the dunes to be forgot about, the only trace of your existence a boulder marked with your name. just words, nothing else. if he knew something for sure, it was that he was't going to die like that. he was going to die as somebody unforgettable, yes. a manipulator and a leader. one somebody could /never/ forget. but what about those who... could be forgotten. he places a paw on one of the head stones, allowing a sigh to slip from his lips. he'd make sure their story was told. chasmkit would keep their tales alive, it was up to him.
