The BlackSmiths see an opportunity to make money. To make this money we start to stream the battles across certain channels that are available to all people across the galaxy. These will have ad breaks every ten minutes. To also be sure that the show is entertaining, BlackSmith ships will drop small amounts of supplies to the defending nation. This will not only make things more fun to watch, but also give the defenders slightly more than a 0.7% chance of winning! These supply drops won't be enough to be considered helping, just aiding slightly. They probably do more harm then good.
