Cora was prancing out in her owner's backyard and chasing a big, fat, and certainly juicy squirrel. As she was trying to climb up the tree, her collar snagged on a branch and ripped. As the collar fell to the ground, Cora continued to chase the squirrel from the country to the suburbs and finally to the city. Cora sat down, frustrated as the squirrel climbed up a very tall tree. A few moments later Cora was walking alongside the alleys until she felt a metal ring slide around her neck and grasp her fur. She was yanked into a big and awfully smelly truck that groaned with each movement it made. Cora was thrust into a small cage with other animals nearby in other cages. The truck started to rumble, and on they went. - - - - - - - - - - When the truck reached its destination, the metal ring was put against Cora's neck once again and a muzzle was tied around her mouth. The building was pouring thick, black smoke and looked as if it hadn't been used for a couple of decades. The big, burly man grabbed hold of the stick on Cora's metal ring, and pulled her inside. Cora could hardly breathe as the ring was choking her neck and hurting her. As they went inside the stench was no better. It smelled like a coal mine with rotten fish. Cora was about to sneeze but looked up and what she saw stopped her dead in her tracks. She saw a man in a white lab coat, staring down at her viciously. He mumbled under his breath, and took a big German Shepherd right next to Cora and dragged him inside a dark room. Cora was getting unsettled as she heard barks of pain from the dark room. She could tell just by looking at them all the other animals felt the same way. The dog then came out of the dark room with a tag on his ear. It was a small, yellow tag with the number "203" on it. Cora was puzzled now as the dog sat by her; why did there come barks of pain of it's just a clip-on tag? The man came out of the dark room and took a good look at all of the animals, and then looked at Cora. He looked at the truck driver and said, "Gimme that one." - - - - - - - - - - Cora's heart pounded in her chest as she was being led into the dark room where she had seen the dog walk into. What she saw next frightened her: The tag she saw was not a clip on tag. The man had a tag, and a stapler. She had seen one of those before, and knew what it did. She tried to escape but it was no use. The metal ring held firm. The man scooped her up and started to staple the tag to her ear. Cora couldn't help but meow in pain as the staple dug into the tip of her ear. She tried to meow again but found the man had tightened her muzzle so her mouth remained shut. He set her back down on the table, and she buried out of the room. the animals looked at her as she reached up to feel her tag. Number 204. The man then took hold of her ring and led her into another room. Inside there were animals, working hard to power up some sort of contraption made from steel. They were all connected to a spoke, and somehow the energy being created was being used to power up the contraption. She saw that one spoke was empty, and it was too late before he put her on the spoke and she was forced to walk, over and over in circles, for hours on end, one whip after another. - - - - - - - - - A month or so had passed of endless walking, and Cora was panting for breath as she noticed all the other animals were tired as well. The spoke started turning slower and slower, and when the man came in, he would just shake his head and walk out. But this time he walked over to the spoke, and grabbed Cora off. First this seemed like a good thing, but Cora was put into a highly sanitized room with people wearing masks. Cora was highly puzzled now. Her muzzle and ring were stripped off and Cora felt like she could breathe again, and her fur was pinch free. Some sort of mask was put on her mouth, they called it... laughing mask? She heard a conversation on the other door and couldn't help but eavesdrop. "These animals are getting too tired... a robot is what we need. Robots are meant to work hard and never get bored. So I thought we could operate on that cat." another voice piped in. "But what if it fails, sir? We could lose a recruit!" "It will work, I pro-" Cora didn't get to hear the rest of the sentence before she fell fast, fast asleep. - - - - - - - - - - When Cora woke up, she found her ears were metal, her tail was steel, and she had a big control box on her chest. Her vision was different as well. she started to see things out of the corner of her eye. It didn't take long for her to discover that it was now bionic. The man forgot to make her hack-free, though, and that is the reason why she gets hacked. Happy end - -> Long story short, an acid spill occurred and Cora escaped.
