"autobot" whirl was an insection, but tried transferring his body to a proper cybertronian. but like most reformatting process between the species, it failed and whirl ended up as a mindless murder machine only stopping to tear himself apart every so often. he proclaimed himself to be an autobot as that was the only thought that survived the reformatting process. his abilities include regeneration, and extreme flexibility due to his wire-y body. similar to firewell, he will try to consume as much energon as possible, but unlike the smaller failed headmaster, he can recognize certain bots and will avoid attacking them as much as possible, especially inspections and bots he considered friends.
this idea of whirl was by me and so was this design. whirl was originally made by hasbro yes I gave him a mouth. without it he looks kinda boring.
