These small grazers formally eat grasses and small shrubbery, but occasionally might even hunt small insects and other types of bugs, as for it is a rather omnivorous species of hare. After the disappearance of many livestock (such as cattle and scheep,) hares have come to take their place into this European ecosystem, diverging into many roles.
