Yo, get ready for my new favorite CH AU I fixed up! I call it Nuclear Ghosts AU, so spooky Okay so context This AU is based on Washington (yes I know I know when is it not) and Hanford (Site W). To my glorious, glorious Manhattan Project/WW2/Cold War lovers, you may be foaming at the mouth. Hanford is the site used to create mass amounts of plutonium for the atomic bombs that put an end to WW2. And also the hydrogen bombs created in the Cold War. Crazyyy bro And so this is an AU based off that and (sh)it. ———- Arc!1 <> Drunk on Recognition — Arc One encapsulates the pressure Washington feels after his birth from America. He’s honestly not much until then, but now he is, and he is starved of appreciation or recognition. He spends hours happily teaching, calculating, designing and building weapons to stop the war that he had heard so much yet truly so little about. He is so proud to finally be seen. But that ends fast. ———- Arc!2 <> the Trinity Test — Washington goes to the Trinity Test. But it’s… not right. Wash dies. No seriously. He dies. He smokes and fizzles like a broken recorder reel, yet nobody comes to help. He emanates radiation so strong nobody can touch him anymore. He’s cold. But he isn’t really dead. He still trails America like a little shadow, still looks up to him. But how does somebody raise a ghost? America doesn’t know, and he doesn’t try. Then the bomb on Nagasaki drops. ———- Arc!3 <> the Monster of the West — Washington tries hard to remember why he had wanted to hurt them in the first place. He can’t understand why. America forgets him there, in Japan. Wash can’t find it in him to hate his father. They call him “Monster of the West”. Not America. Washington.
