Instructions

About fifty students stood tall in two separate lines facing each other, waiting to be selected in their groups. They had trained hard at Survival Training University for four years, and now they were going to be put into their final exam to graduate to their new jobs and lives. A tall man came through the middle, and as he walked all the students kept their heads up nervously, for they didn't want him to see their face. When he had crossed, he noticed some students whispering to each other. "SILENCE!" He commanded, and they put their heads downwards in shame. "Yes, Mr. Hamiltworth." He looked away and stared at the others sternly, for that was his usual grumpy way he went about in life. "Stewart Penalton, Nixon Shadow, Bruce Harthin, and Moxley Wood will be in Team One." Announced Mr. Hamiltworth dully. Knowingly, those that were called went to their places together at the Team One designation. This went on for quite a while until Team Seven had been named. "Now finally," Snapped Mr Hamiltworth. "We can name the last team, Team Eight." He paused to look around, to see that there were only two impatient students remaining. "Ellie Florence and Henry Maxwell, go to your spots." Both of them groaned, clearly equally disgusted by their teammate. "Now," Announced Mr. Hamiltworth. "You have all passed through our survival training. Each and every one of you has gone through four years of our exclusive training at STU, and I expect results in this final test. The goal is to get to the end, and pick the flag made for your team in the center of the jungle, where we will be waiting. It will involve going through dangerous paths, and you will receive standard gear and equipment. Use your skills, wit, and training, and you may pass. Good luck, the staff will escort you to your places." All the staff took their team to the starting place for that team. Team Eight had to wait last for their staff member, and while waiting they simply continued grumbling. "You really had to be on my team, didn't you?" Groaned Ellie. "Oh, so it's my fault!" "Well you should've made sure Mr. Hamiltworth liked you more!" Henry rolled his eyes. "Who said he didn't like me?" "It's so obvious! He always leaves you out on everything, and-" But she was interrupted by the "ahem" of the staff. "Ellie Florence, Henry." The skinny and sharp faced woman itched her spiky nose as they both gazed up at her in shock. "Follow me," She hissed, and they walked to a gray platform, which was hidden in leaves and foliage. She gave them some tools which might be used along the way, as Mr. Hamiltworth had said. Afterwards they came to a clearer line up where they could see the rest of the teams. Henry looked jealously at Team One. He would be way better off with them then with some girl! Ellie wished she could just be on her own, she wasn't someone for teams. Mr. Hamiltworth stuttered around in the center of it all. "Take your places directly on the platform." He commanded, and all obeyed. "May the trial begin." Just like that, the platforms were released like a trap door. Everyone found themself dropping down quite swiftly as if to be falling endless in an abyss. The wind created by their drop slapped them continuously, and they began to feel like raindrops falling from a cloud. As the hole became wider, they found themselves spinning around sickly...
