Newgen jokes... people make jokes about newgens all the time (well, not ALL the time, but you get what I mean?). But are newgen jokes even funny, or nice? Well, here's my opinion that no one asked for because this is the internet, NO ONE asked for my opinion. Anywho... newgen jokes aren't even funny. Some people may even find these types of jokes upsetting. Usually, when I see people making jokes about newgens, it doesn't even look like a joke. It looks like these people are being serious, but that could just be because it's hard to convey emotions through text sometimes. Another thing about newgen jokes is that it is down punching. If you don't know what that means, well: "In comedy, “punching down” refers to making jokes about people who have a less privileged or powerful place in society than the person telling the joke". These down punching jokes are usually not nice. I honestly don't like newgen jokes. They aren't at all funny. Jokes are supposed to make people laugh, or at least smile, and newgen jokes don't do that (at least I don't think they do? ;-;). I think if someone tells you to not make a newgen joke about them or something, you should respect that, because that person may not be comfortable with those types of jokes. I've seen things where people ask other people to not do something, and then those people doing that thing decide to just repeat that thing over and over as if it's funny. Bothering people is not funny. I PERSONALLY think that newgen jokes should be toned down a little, because if I were to say that we should stop these types of jokes altogether, people would boo me and start throwing tomatoes. By toned down, I mean at least try to make it OBVIOUS that you're joking, because most of the time I can't actually tell if people hate newgens or not (woowww Fern that's such a skill issues!! L!! [Please go touch grass if you say stuff like that :/ ]) So anyways... what I'm trying to say is that... to me at least, these jokes make me feel unwelcomed and unwanted. They make me scared to asked questions about the SOSC and ROSS, because I know I'm just gonna be dogpiled with "Haha, you newgen!!". If you don't agree with this, you don't need to comment something rude like how I'm being a little snowflake. And I'd appreciate it if people didn't just comment "newgen", or something along those lines (I will delete the comment because I am smelly). It just shows that you don't care, and if you don't care, you don't need to comment. You can read this, or not, and move on with your day. I'm not here to start a war, I just wanted to state how newgen jokes make me feel.
