I hate it Having to say “We’re just friends” Either because someone made a ship Or because someone made a move Both have happened too many times And every time it’s painful Because it’s always disappointing someone It’s worse though When you wish you weren’t “Just friends” Because what if they’re the only one The one you want more than anything And they don’t want you Or maybe they’ve told you it themselves What do you even do then? Your the disappointed one then I wish being friends wasn’t so complex I mean it sucks that anyone has to say that Because both ends of the stick are thorny And if you’re on either Those thorns sink in deep And leave scars It’s the thing that actually ruins the “Friendship” When you both know it’s more than that. So how do I tell her?
