Moon Phases This program lets you explore the Moon's phases across time without the need to manually input dates. Use the left and right arrows to move backward or forward one day at a time. Each lunar position is computed using an approximate astronomical model based on the synodic cycle (≈29.53 days). As you move through time, you’ll observe: The Moon’s visible appearance transitioning from new to full and back again. The names and locations of major lunar features, including Mare Tranquillitatis, Mare Imbrium, and notable craters.
