After 2 years of development, the car debuted at the Verani Motor Show in Summer 1999. The cars launched to great fanfare, and a 5-star safety rating. The car featured the latest technology like a SatNav system, front and side airbags, AWD, and heated front seats with a massage system. The car aimed to be a Midori for less money, but still featuring luxury features. The car also featured a dual-sparkplug system and a turbo which gave the car more power and better torque distribution. At the end of its run, both cars sold over 150,000 units, making it a massive success.
