I love the rain The pouring rain that gets everybody rushing past you Like a river so they don't get wet But they can’t avoid it, they are river Rushing by you, as you stand still, like a rock The world slows down All you can hear is the tap tap tap of the rain And the bang bang bang of the thunder As the sky lights up with fireworks of its own making You don’t realize how wet you are getting How the water is dripping down your face, Mixing with tears, brackish water Salty and fresh Happy and sad and you feel so happy to be there, and alive and you never ever want to leave
