The Unificationist States of the Caribbean sent a squadron of FTL ships to the last large unclaimed area of Mars, not for imperialistic reasons but to establish the Unificationist States of Mars which would serve as a functioning state with intentions on the (at least partial) unification of Mars. A few Unificationist supporters from the Pacific States’ Martian territories would transfer to those territories, and the project would receive trillions in Caribbean funding in order to set up expeditions, research projects, colonies and research projects on the Martian ecosystem and environment. The provisionally designed flag of the Unificationist States of Mars was flown over the territory as the modular ships that arrived were disassembled and repurposed into Martian bases and settlements in the North Argyre sector. Two probes were additionally landed on the moons of Phobos and Deimos respectively, claiming them for the USoM and beginning robotic mining operations to extract the resources necessary to support the main Martian land and its settlement
