Because of the low gravity, their bone density is very low. After being out in low gravity for a set amount of time, bone density lowers, making it either impossible or extremely taxing on the body to enter high gravity. Most BlackSmith people live in asteroids, but this low gravity comes with an advantage: because of the low Gravity, less force is pulling on the body, making it easier for bones to grow larger. This pushed the average height of a BlackSmith citizen to 6'3 for males and 6'0 for females. When a child is born in the BlackSmith nation, their parents are given a choice, to set them up for treatment with the LB drug, which will allow their child to be able to live in high gravity, or to keep their child as normal. The LB drug is a drug that will help a young child grow (somewhat) normal bones that can withstand high gravity. This is highly useful if your child wants to be a high G miner for archeology, paleontology, or just mining, and to be in the military. At the age of 7, they are forced to decide whether they want to be part of the military, mine in high-G, or just stop taking the drug and be something other than those. If they choose to be part of the military or a high-G miner, then the rest of their life is grueling training, building bone density, and doing intense muscular training. And finally, those who decide to be in the military can then choose to be a High G seal or some of the other wings. If they choose to be a high-G seal, they undergo more intense training and are put into different categories. And yes, it is the exact same for women.
